State of the News Media 2007
PEJ has released their wonderful “State of the News Media” report for 2007.

This is a “bomb of knowledge on the media world” Amazingly comprehensive in in scope, backed up with quantitative research on all media channels - newspapers, online, TV, magazines, radio and ethnic media. trends? whats going up? whats going down? PEJ looks at the quality of the journalism, business models and shifts in make up and preferences of audiences.

Digital media and new media rock. Why? -They are constantly evolving in real- time, which you can watch and contribute to as they develop - which is on a minute to minute basis. Modern Society, The Economy and Communication within all transform as a result. Its awesome.

I started a school newspaper when I was 7 called News & Views.. It seems that it still stands 16 years later that news doesnt appear to be necessarily what the general population take time to read (!), talk about, email, and form views on.
Even back then I found through market (playground) research surveys that people were more interested in reading about the inside scoop on the elusive Mrs Kennedy than who won the highly contested sand saucer competition at Pets Day.
