I see the “Journalists protest at media awards” story is no longer avaliable on stuff. Funny that, they never used to pull stories after 3 days, nothing on Herald etc either. Had to turn to the “Blayney Chronicle” to get the NZPA Scoop.

The protest is in regards to APN’s proposed outsourcing of sub-editing to Australian “PageMasters”.

Scanning the list above you can see that there is no shortage of talent in our newsrooms, with the protest happening at the awards no doubt with an aim to protect this. Each job/ resource cut is compromising our access to the high quality media insight to which we have become accustomed to, and perhaps now take for granted here in NZ.
